Morning yoga retreat classes and tours to the citadel of Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley of the Incas and Cusco. 2021
A 7 night yoga retreat in the Andes that will collect you at Cusco airport before taking you into the Sacred Valley of the Incas where you will spend a few days practising yoga and visiting some of the fabulous archaeological sites in the area. You will also participate in a ceramics class and a traditional shamanic ceremony before visiting Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the world. All this culminates in the Inca town of Cusco nestled in the Andes. This will all be will be with professional guides, yoga teachers and wonderful hotels.
Arrival into Peru, you need to make your way to Cusco. Today, as we adjust to the altitude, we will have a healing yoga class, recovering from the flight and stretching the limbs, before we have a light dinner and an evening to get to know each other. Dinner.
Early in the morning we take our first full yoga class, we have all the equipment here so you just need to turn up and focus on your practice. After breakfast we head off into the mountains around the Sacred Valley to the town of Maras and then on to the experimental Inca laboratory of Moray to experience the fascinating culture of the Incas. Upon waking make your way to your yoga class which will set you up for the day. Again breakfast is included before we board our vehicle and go to the archaeological site of Pisac. We will walk before returning to the hotel in the Sacred Valley via a local market, allowing you to appreciate the colour of the local culture and people. Breakfast, Lunch in the valley.
We are now accustomed to our early morning yoga and as we progress through the week our bodies relax and curve more. Today we will take a ceramics class in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The area is well known for its ceramics and it’s a real treat to be taught here. The afternoon is free maybe you can take a walk or have a massage or another treatment. Breakfast, Buffet Lunch at the hotel.
We have an early rise today as we head to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Our private guide will meet us at the town of Aguas Calientes and guide us through the Inca city. We will return on the train back to the Sacred Valley and then Cusco. Breakfast, Packed Lunch.
As we are now in the centre of the universe we will visit the town with our guide. Visiting the fascinating Cathedral with its 18th century painting of The Last Supper. Our guide will also take us to Cusco central market which is central to family life in the town. It sells everything from alpaca yarn to fresh juices, pulses, nuts and all sorts of fresh food as well as handicrafts. The afternoon is free to explore the town, maybe sit in the main square and watch the world go by.

We say our goodbyes and are taken back to the airport, or you can add on a visit to Lake Titicaca, the Amazon or somewhere else in South America. Breakfast.
Our main accommodation is the Mandala Yoga retreat in the Sacred Valley. The lodge has a beautiful yoga space with views of the mountains and the colourful gardens. There are hammocks to while away some time watching the humming birds.
In Cusco, we will spend time in the Antigua Casona in the San Blas area of Cusco.
They have a beautiful yoga studio with views over the city.
All prices are based on two sharing. Single supplements are also available.
Please arrive at Cusco around midday on the 27th March for transfer to the Sacred Valley.

In general we will have 2 classes a day, one in the morning of 90 minutes and one in the afternoon of 60 to 90 minutes that may include meditation also. You do not need to take both classes every day, it is up to you.
These yoga retreats are for any standard of yogi including absolute beginners. We also cater for expert yogis also. We give the instruction for group 1 and group 2 and we will decide what group you are in the first day although you can swap between the 2 if you like. In addition if you would like to travel with a non yogi ask about special pricing.
They are not, we cater for all dietary requirements and some yoga centres may be 100% vegetarian but when we have lunch or dinner out you can eat what you like. Do let us know any preferences.
We do not provide visas but we can help you if you do need a visa.
We do not include these as people come from all over the world, we can help you find the best routing as we have many years experience in this field.
You can have a guaranteed single room by paying the single supplement.
If you would prefer not to pay the single supplement you can share a room with a person of the same sex. We will pair you with a room partner.
Ask us about packing lists for each specific destination but everyone should bring a yoga mat. We will supply blocks, straps and blankets.
