Our Yoga Retreat in Scotland 2022 is a 6 night visit with accommodation in small Scottish castle with history dating back to 1245. The retreat combines luxury in a Scottish Castle with private chef, daily yoga and meditation and access to the major cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh which we will have the opportunity to explore. You also have plenty of free time to explore the castle grounds as there are a number of walks available. Most of our tours will use local transport with your private guide.  After the retreat we can help you with more independent travel.

Day 1 (17th September)

Arrive into Glasgow airport by 3pm (ask about extra transfer cost if arriving into Edinburgh), we will be taken to Craufurdland Castle our home for the luxury yoga retreat week. We have time to settle in and explore our surroundings before an afternoon stretch and the opportunity to get to know each other in our first yoga class in the Georgian Drawing room. We then have dinner in the beautiful dining room. Dinner.

Day 2 (18th September)

Day 2 We begin with an early morning yoga class with meditation before breakfast prepared by our private chef, just ask us about food requirements and we will do the best to accommodate you.

We will head out today to the Ayrshire coast visiting the Rabbie Burns museum in Alloway before driving to Dunure Castle which some may recongnise from Outlander. The evening we have yoga and meditation and dinner in the dining room. Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Day 3 (19th September)

We have a busier day today so we will begin with yoga and then breakfast before heading into the city of Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city. We will board the local tour bus and travel around the city getting to know it. Glasgow is home of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery with Salvador Dali’s beautiful Christ the Redeemer painting. We can recommend some restaurants around the city while you explore. You can also visit the Riverside museum which was named as Europe’s best museum. When you return to the castle yoga and dinner will be provided. Breakfast, dinner.

Day 4 (20th September)

A slower pace today as we have yoga to begin the day and you have time for some independent travel. Maybe you could head back to Glasgow or you could explore the Ayrshire coast, let us know and we will do all we can to assist you. Evening yoga and meditation, if the weather is nice maybe we can do yoga outside. Breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Day 5 (21st September)

We will have yoga to begin the day and then we will head to the capital city and Edinburgh. Again we will take the tour bus as it offers such a great tour of the entirety of the city, you can spend the rest of the day as you wish. You might visit Edinburgh Castle or the Botanic Gardens or just stroll around getting a feel for the ancient city. We will meet back in Edinburgh to take our transport back to our castle. As it is a longer day of travelling today we will not have yoga this evening but dinner will be provided. Breakfast, dinner.

Day 6 (22nd September)

Yoga will be the welcome start to the day as we will have our last day in the beautiful grounds of Craufurdland Castle. As we are having a rest day you can explore and pop into the estate's Laird’s Table restaurant. We will have a final yoga and mediation session before our last dinner together. Breakfast, dinner

Day 7 (23rd September)

After an uplifting yoga session and a final breakfast we say our farewells and head to the next points in our adventures. We will include a drop off at Glasgow airport but do ask if you need to go somewhere else. Scotland is a small country and you can easily get around on public transport if required. Breakfast.

How much yoga will we do?

In general we will have 2 classes a day, one in the morning of 90 minutes and one in the afternoon of 60 to 90 minutes that may also include meditation. You do not need to take both classes every day however, it's up to you.

Do I need to be a yoga expert?

These yoga retreats are for any standard of yogi from absolute beginner to expert. We host two groups separated by experience and confidence, and we will decide what group you are in the first day. If you'd later like to swap between the two just let us know. In addition, if you would like to travel with a non-yogi, ask us about special pricing.

Are all meals vegetarian/vegan?

We cater for all dietary requirements, and while some of our centres will be 100% vegetarian, most will have vegan and non-vegan options. When we have lunch or dinner out however, you can eat whatever you like. Do let us know any preferences.

Do you provide visas?

We do not provide visas, but we can help you if you do require one.

Do you include international air tickets?

We do not include these as our guests come from all over the world, but with our many years experience in this field we can help find the best routing for you.

Can I have a single room?

You can have a guaranteed single room by paying the single supplement.

Can I share a room?

If you would prefer not to pay the single supplement you can share a room with a person of the same sex. We will pair you with a room partner.

What should I bring?

Every guest is required to bring their own yoga mat. Otherwise, ask us about packing lists for each specific destination. We will supply blocks, straps and blankets.
